It is with immense grief that we announce the death of Shari Denise Kwiatkowski of Sunrise, Florida who passed away on the morning of Sunday, April 10, 2022. Shari was born in Camden Tennessee on July 10th, 1958. She was predeceased by her parents Glenn and Lula Carolyn Stepp and her sister Kathey Mathers. She is survived by her husband Sheldon Kwiatkowski, her daughter Carissa Williams and three brothers Kevin, Ron and Mark Stepp as well as many nieces and nephews. Shari was dearly loved by her family, friends and business associates. She was a courageous woman who abruptly left Tennessee in the 90s, alone with only her young daughter Carissa, to start a new life in Los Angeles, CA. Many knew her as the always classy, modest and reserved southern lady, who at the same time, absolutely adored humor like the juvenile pranks in the movie Jack Ass #1 as well as the frequent and pervasive tomfoolery for which her beloved aviation industry is so well known. It’s been frequently said that Shari never met a stranger she didn’t like. The number of professional proteges she mentored over the years is great and almost all of them to a person grew to become a loved and cherished close friend who all admired her Encyclopedic like knowledge of aviation related history, events and facts. Often this knowledge was shared with personal friends and family at dinners out, where she was rarely afraid to try and often grew to love new international foods while still maintaining a place near her heart for old comfortable favorites like Orange Cream soda, Moon Pies and many other old time staples. Among the many things she truly enjoyed in life were Las Vegas vacations, Dogs, cats and most other furry critters, and voraciously reading about news, archaeology, anthropology, biblical / general history and thriller novels. At home she sometimes enjoyed Sipping red wine outside at night in the cooler weather, next to a wood fire, while occasionally calling out the make and model of commercial aircraft engines flying overhead based solely on the sound. All in all, the world is a greatly diminished place without her in it. Donations are suggested to be sent to the Broward County Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
