Michael Wayne Flowers

Michael Wayne Flowers Sr., 74, of Big Sandy, TN went home to be with the Lord on December 10, 2021. He was born on March 2, 1947 in Rutherford, TN.  Michael, "Mike" proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years until he retired. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict. He continued to work post retirement in various positions including Instructor of Industrial Maintenance at The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Paris, TN. and other various maintenance positions including the Benton County School System. He was a member of the Faxon Baptist Church and a member of Big Sandy Masonic Lodge 754.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Thomas Flowers and Johnnie Mae Flowers; brothers, Vernon Flowers Jr., Jimmy Flowers, George Flowers, Bobby Flowers; sisters, Evelyn Bradford, Margaret Powell and Edith Flowers.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patsy (Huff) Flowers; two sons, Michael Wayne Flowers Jr. (Lorrie) and Martin Wesley Flowers (Allison) all of Big Sandy, TN.; grandchildren, Jennifer Thomas, Hannah Flowers, Megan Flowers, Lauren Flowers and one great-granddaughter Marlee Thomas. He is also survived by one sister, Alice King (Larry) and one brother Joe Flowers (Renee) of TN.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, commonly known as "Pop" and will be sincerely missed by all. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, cars and motorcycles.

Visitation with the Flowers family will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 pm and again on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 10:00-12:00 pm at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home in Big Sandy, TN.

Masonic services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 6:00 pm.

Military & Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 1:30 pm at the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads, 693 Wildersville Rd., Wildersville, TN. 38388
