Johnathan Scott Stockdale

Johnathan Scott Stockdale, age 27, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, in LaFayette, GA. John was born on November 6, 1996, in Glendale, AZ to Scott Stockdale and Diane Stevenson. He was preceded in death by grandparents Jacolyn Padgett, Joe Stockdale, Robert Lessenberry and Eddie Salazar.

John was a kind and gentle soul that loved life and brought much joy and happiness to his family and friends. There was nothing he enjoyed more than fishing adventures with his best friend/cousin Evan Close.

John was a 2015 graduate of Ooltewah High School and a 2017 graduate of Nashville State Community College where he earned an Associate’s of Applied Science in Industrial Process Control Technology. John followed in his mother and father’s footsteps by joining the United States Air Force in 2017. He honorably left the service in June of 2024 at the rank of Senior Airman. After leaving active duty, John moved to Tunnel Hill, GA to start a business with his dear friend Brady Crews.

John is survived by:

Mother: Diane (Carry) Stevenson of Greensboro, NC.

Father: Scott (Wendy) Stockdale of Cookeville, TN.

Grandparents: Minnie Lessenberry of Camden, TN, Gary Padgett of Martinez, CA, and Vicki Salazar of Panama City Beach, FL. 

Sisters: Chelsea Stockdale of Chattanooga, TN, Jessica Stockdale of Knoxville, TN, and Kayla (Tim) Higdon of Camden, TN. 

Brothers: Garrett Stevenson stationed at Shaw AFB, and Riley (Jessica) Coleman of Decaturville, TN. 

He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Everyone he met he considered his close friend. 

Visitation will be Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 5pm to 8pm at the Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home in Camden, TN. Visitation will resume Friday, July 12, 2024, from 10 am to 2pm at the Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home. 

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 2 pm at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home in Camden, TN with Bro. Ronnie Stewart and Bro. Tony Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at the Rushings Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Camden, TN.
