Elvira “Miss Nebbie” Sullivan DeBruce, wife of the late Carl DeBruce, of Big Sandy, was born into Eternal Life on September 18, 2018 in Mt. Clemens, Mich.
Elvira was born in Chicago IL. on September 26,1926 to the late Lawrence and Bertha Sullivan and was raised in Bemidji, Minn. and Manistee. She and Carl raised their Children in Madison Heights, Mich.
They retired and moved to Big Sandy in 1974. Elvira was a life long homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, Kit-Kats candy bars, raising up several litters of Shetland Sheep Dogs and anything sweet!
Elvira was predeceased by her siblings, May C., Florence L., Lawrence F,. Blanche, Bertha M., Richard H., and her beloved Children, Cathy Sue and Lawrence Tayler and nephews Robert L., and Duane.
She is survived by her daughter, Pat (Chris) DeBruce and Laweance C., (Jean) Maxin of Michigan; and Danny (Jeanne), Shirley (Gary) Elwanda, and Doris Jean of California, Rita (Marvin), of Minnesota. She leaves a special cousins, Maxine (the Tilden), Ronnie and Gary (Cathy) DeBruce, and many great and great-great nephews and Nieces. She also leaves her best friends Juantia, Joe, Tammi, Gail, Bonnie, Richie, and the people of Ramble Creek Church, who graciously loved and cherished her presence among them.
Elvira’s early remains were tenderly cared for by the staff of Faulmann and Walsh Funeral Home in Mich. And the staff of McLaren Hospice.
Visitation will take place at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home in Big Sandy, on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm with Pat DeBruce officiating. Burial will take place later in the day at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Big Sandy. A luncheon will follow at her favorite pizza place-Mom and Pops in Big Sandy. Yes, Sweets will be served!
