Bettie Walden Bishop, age 91, recently of Bartlett, TN., passed away on March 29, 2019 at The Kings and Daughters Health and Rehab in Bartlett, TN. Bettie was born on February 1, 1928 to the late Henry and Aletha Sanford Walden in Nashville, TN. After the passing of her parents at age 6 and 7, Bettie grew up in The Tennessee Baptist Childrens Home in Franklin, TN. until the age of 16, when she lived with family in Donelson, TN. After graduating high school, Bettie received a scholarship to attend Union University in Jackson, Tn. On the first day of school, she was assigned a seat next to a handsome Marine, Lester Bishop, from Camden, TN. Bettie and that handsome Marine were married one year later. They stayed at Union and finished their education before moving to Camden where they both taught school and later worked at TVA. Bettie taught 7th grade for many years and then got certified to become the librarian at Briarwood school until her retirement. Bettie was active at the Camden First Baptist Church where she served as church clerk and church librarian for many years, and was a member of Delta Kappa Gama and the Benton County Retired Teachers Association. Bettie was preceded in death by her loving husband in 2006.

Nephew: Mark Robertson of Little Rock, Ar.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 2 PM at The Benton Memory Gardens in Camden, Tn. with Bro. Chris Ward officiating.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019 from 12 Noon until 1:45 PM at The Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home in Camden, Tn.
Her body is asleep. Her spirit is alive forever with Jesus. Praise The Lord Almighty.
