Anna Marie O'Dell Crosby

Anna Marie O’Dell Crosby was born February 15, 1939 and resided in this world until Christmas Day, 2023 when she passed into the presence of the Lord. She was born in Crossville, TN to Laura Hayley O’Dell Henry and Lewis O’Dell, Sr.  After graduating from Cumberland County High School in 1957, she moved to Detroit, MI where she worked at Parke-Davis Pharmaceuticals, married and had three children.  The family returned to Tennessee where she worked in the family grocery and enjoyed substitute teaching at Camden Central High.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from UT Martin and was the long time purchasing and payroll manager at Henry I. Siegel apparel in Bruceton.  She loved roaming across the state to visit with her siblings and to see the mountains of East Tennessee and the bald eagles in West Tennessee.  She loved classical music, traveling and learning. After retirement she moved to Nashville and was a member of Brentwood Baptist Church where she was active in the Faith Builders Sunday School class. She taught ESL and Vacation Bible School. She was a longtime member of Compassionate Friends and One With Another.  Anna was devoted to God, her family and her friends.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her step-father, Clinton Henry, along with her son, Mark, former husband Gerald Crosby, and siblings James O’Dell, Sr. and Cora Lord.  She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Crosby Cornwell (Scott) and Carol Crosby, of Franklin, TN and grandson Hawkins Cornwell of Nashville. Also surviving are loving siblings and spouses – Mary Nevius of Springfield, MO; Elmo and Donna O’Dell of Cleveland, TN; Peggy Barnwell of Crab Orchard, TN; Jaunita Womac of Charleston, TN; and David and Teresa Henry of Crossville.  Sister-in-law, Janell Burke Ellis (Edward) and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 13 at 2 P. M, with a memorial service following at 3 P. M. in the Baskin Chapel of Brentwood Baptist Church, 7777 Concord Road, Brentwood, TN, with Gayle Haygood officiating. A private burial will take place at Sardis Ridge Cemetery in Parsons, TN.
