Martha L. Phifer

Martha L. Phifer, age 81, of Olmsted Township, passed away on July 2, 2015 after a brief illness. She was born December 31, 1933 in Big Sandy, Tn and has been a resident of Olmsted Township for the past 51 years. She worked as sales and payroll clerk for Kmart in Middleburg Heights, retiring in 1979 after 15 years of service and enjoyed being a painter at Nature Stone Products after her retirement. Martha could often be found tending to her flower garden and, also, was fond of needlepoint and crochering, along with collecting angels. Her grandchildren were her world to her, and spending time with them was where she found her greatest joy in life. Survivors include: Daughters: Linda EcK of Olmsted Township, Brinda(Rodger)LePoidevin of Utah, Karen(Chuck)Farren of IN. Daughter-in-law:Debbie Phifer of IN. Grandchildren: Charlie(Scott Rummelhart)Farren of IA, Shila Lord of NJ, Crystal Farren of IN,Caryn(Brian)Studebaker of IN, Carla(Justin)Peake of IN,Thomas T.(Jes Thompson)Phifer of IN,Tamica(Alex)Roloff of IN, Joshua(Miranda)Haggard of Olmsted Falls, Tiffany(Jeff)Kelly of Olmsted Township. Twenty great grandchildren and an Aunt of many. Preceded by: Husband: Thurman Phifer, Daughter: Okalmae Phifer, Sons: James & Kenneth Phifer, Parents: Thurman & Nettie(nee York) Reynolds, Twelve brothers & six sisters Grandchildren: Samuel,Tammy,Thomas,Pamela & Timmy Schroeder. Funeral Service will be conducted Tuesday, July 7, 2015 12:00noon at Stockdale-Malin in Big Sandy, Tn with Bro. Darrell Joyner officiating. Interment will follow at Flatwoods Cemetery. Visitation with the Phifer family will be Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 10:00am until 12:00noon
